Caleidoscope Success Story:   Heritage Automotive Group

Heritage Ford Toyota Scion is Vermont’s largest dealership.  What sets them apart from competitors is Customer Service. Whether it is automobile service or sales, customers drive away from Heritage feeling good.  The Heritage Team makes sure of that.

Heritage recently made some enhancements to their telecommunications services to ensure their ability to provide that “H Team” experience.  Heritage chose to partner with Caleidoscope Communications to manage their White River Toyota ShoreTel PBX.

“We were more comfortable working with a local vendor who would talk to us and work with us”

- Cassie Bombard, Project Coordinator

Caleidoscope also provided a cost assessment of existing telecommunications service and circuit costs.  They designed an economical way to provide high quality, dependable communications to connect their ShoreTel PBX with South Burlington.  Caleidoscope also renegotiated Level(3) service agreements, reducing expense 50%, and adding fiber-optic based high speed Internet for the two dealerships.

“Caleidoscope worked with our existing service providers and optimized our costs and the value we receive for telecom services.  Going with Caleidoscope’s recommendation was an easy business case.”

-David P. Brown, Business Development Center Manager

Caleidoscope Project Managed the delivery of Level (3) Internet and fiber-optic Fast Ethernet data connections between dealerships.  The solution included ADTRAN router configuration and installation. Currently, Caleidoscope is assisting Heritage with a long-term business continuity plan that includes dual-entrance fiber and multiplexor placement and multi-node switching redundancy.

“Caleidoscope technical support is easy to work with. They do what they say they’re going to do.  We recommend Caleidoscope Communications.”

-Scott Stafford, Manager Information Systems

A Caleidoscope Success Story: PC Construction Move to New Headquarters

PC Construction (formerly known as Pizzagalli Construction) is an industry leader in general contractingand building construction. Pizzagalli is renowned for quality, value and mastery of logistics.

When itcomes to their customers, “At PC we go above and beyond on every job, period”. When it came time tomove into new headquarters, PC Construction tapped Caleidoscope Communications to consult and project manage the move of telecommunications services.

Caleidoscope Communications negotiated delivery of new fiber‐optic based service terminations into the building, and negotiated a full suite of new mission‐critical services to support PC Construction’s enterprise voice and computing needs.

“In our headquarters move, PC Communications made the decision to house our IP PBX and data center off‐site, to suit our multi‐location, multi‐mode network and service continuity design. We had to adhere to tight timeframes with zero tolerance for delay or failure. Caleidoscope delivered!”
‐Randy K. Lessor, Director of Information Technology

Caleidoscope managed to provide an interim 30MB Ethernet connection between the old HQ and new Data Center, while managing for the delivery of a permanent 50MB Fast Ethernet connection via Level(3). Once the new service was working after the move, Caleidoscope disconnected the temporary service, without termination liability.

“Having a high‐speed circuit on a temporary basis before the move allowed PC Construction to test and prove all of our IP voice, data, storage, and network systems ahead of time. The design that Caleidoscope provided proved to be critical to our success”.
‐Randy K. Lessor, Director of Information Technology

Not only was PC Construction moving its headquarters, but it was newly implementing off‐site computing. Voice telephone circuits, 800 services, Internet, private line data, Cable TV and redundancy options were designed, built, and delivered on time and at a cost below current spend. During the process, Caleidoscope project managed each element, communicating milestones and following up with timely information. Old services which became obsolete
were disconnected promptly, without excess billing overlap.

“Caleidoscope, you are not just a vendor but a true PC business partner!”
‐Randy Lessor, Director of Information Technology

Dear Loretta,
I wanted to thank MyWan.Com, Caleidoscope, and One Communications for the excellent job they did as a team to convert Balise Motor Sales’ entire Wide Area Network from one carrier to another carrier.    The thorough communication, attention to detail  and follow up allowed us to accomplish this seamlessly with no impact to the user community or to business.  I am extremely glad to have them as telecommunications partners.

Vermont Furniture Designs has been trying to get Fairpoint to transfer our lines to New Horizon for over a year.  Finally, after much wrangling with Fairpoint and the PSB, I asked Caleidoscope to help and the company president became personally involved.  The problem was solved very quickly.   The service from Caleidoscope was excellent, and the results came quickly.

The support our school district recently received from Caleidoscope and New Horizon has raised the bar on customer service. After setting up our new Internet connection we were unable to send emails to certain domains. Too often, in my experience, this type of situation results in finger pointing. The support techs went beyond their scope and didn’t stop until the problem was fixed. After repeated testing and tweaking they found the solution.
I’m happy to say that we are now able to communicate with the world and it’s reassuring to know that there are people I can rely on when data gets lost along the way.

"My company has been a long time Caleidoscope customer (client).  I have always been impressed by their customer service ethic and professional staff.  Recently, with all of the Verizon/Fairpoint changes, Caleidoscope has been helping me make some proactive changes to our telecommunications infrastructure to keep us out of harms way.  It turns out they made some really intelligent decisions exactly at the right time.  Thanks, Caleidoscope!"
